Job summary
Looking to be part of one of Amazon’s most ambitious efforts? Dreamed of working for a FAANG company while staying in Australia? Amazon is re-imagining its people facing technology. Our People Experience Technology Australia team is configuring our very own internal Time and Attendance (TAA) payroll tool for our Operations business line (Fulfillment centers and Delivery stations). To achieve these goals Amazon has created multiple Software Development Engineer roles who will create, own and develop this exciting new software.

These roles are Australia based, offering great flexibility for you to work from home in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. The roles will report into the Regional Program Manager (Australia) and partner closely with our global product and engineering teams. Whilst initially focused on Australia these roles have the growth potential to support global expansion plans within Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
The heart of TAA is analytics - real-time and batch-driven - over data collected from IoT devices, usually time clocks. This team own high-availability authoritative services to support this processing, and require the ability to work from authoritative, replay-able, auditable "truth" for any point in an employee's timeline. The business rules are complex and governed by local pay legislation, local business requirements and global company policy.

These positions will work together to improve the Time and Attendance product and experience for our Australian Operations business line. You will be focused on business change requests, new features and end-user experience enhancement. This opportunity is ideally suited to passionate, results-oriented, experienced software developers. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a focus on delighting customers through a great user experience then this role is for you.

  • 5+ years’ industry experience as a software development engineer.
  • Experience with Time and attendance payroll technology programming.
  • Experience in Python.
Please note Amazon does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
